Ouija Boards

By David G. Scott / Religious Demonologist

This is another article that I have been meaning to write for some time now, and it is a subject that needs to be addressed. Everyone has heard of the Ouija board.  It is a very popular board game that a lot of people have used.  The board itself has no “mystical or magical” powers.  It is used when people wish to try and communicate with spirits.  I strongly disagree with its use and do not recommend it to anyone for any reason, especially during a paranormal investigation.  If a paranormal team tells you that they use one during the course of their investigation, I would not allow it to be done in the home.

The chances that someone could actually connect and communicate with a spirit are very real. More and more paranormal teams are finding that they are dangerous to use, and that people should not dabble with them at all. The Ouija board is just not something that should ever be used.  If someone were to try and use one however there are two very specific things that they should be on the lookout for.

First off, there is the spelling. It is a well known fact that demons can not spell.  If someone is using an Ouija board and they have made “contact” with something they should watch the spelling. Demons were never human, so they do not know how to spell correctly.  If a word is misspelled that is automatically a red flag and the session should end immediately.

Secondly, there is the fact that demons will usually try to predict the future.

If a spirit that is communicating with someone is trying to predict future events, that is another red flag and the session should end immediately. Only a demon would try and make someone think that they know the future.  The fact of the matter is that demons do not know the future.  Only God is all knowing, all powerful, and can tell the future.

A demon will use this to try and keep communication going with the people involved in an attempt to gain acceptance into one of the player’s lives and or home. Even if you’re just watching the game you can still be effected by it because you are showing an interest by being there. That is just as bad as participating because to a demon, that too is an invitation to trouble. People often forget that demons do not think like we do, they aren’t human. A demon will look for any way possible to attach itself to a person or home.

Finally, there is the issue of what to do with the Ouija board when someone has found out that a demon is connected to it. Most people will simply try to throw the board away, or they will try and destroy the board by burning it or tearing it up. This is not only the biggest mistake a person can make, but it won’t work. When the Ouija board is destroyed or trashed the demonic spirit will still be there. Getting rid of the board will not make the problem go away.  In order to get rid of the problem, you must have the home blessed to expel the demon from it, and then do the same with the board to break the bond the demon has with it.  Only then should the board be removed from the home and kept in a safe place.  If I go on a case and find out that a demonic spirit may be in the home due to the use of an Ouija board I will do everything I just mentioned above and then take the board home with me for safe keeping. When I say safe keeping I mean that the board is wrapped and kept in an out of reach place so that no one can try and use it anymore. I will also sprinkle holy water on it and say a binding prayer over it just in case. I have stated in other articles that once a home has been blessed any and all occult items should be permanently removed from the home because demonic spirits are attracted to them, and can attach themselves to them.

In conclusion, do not allow yourself to be drawn to the Ouija board by curiosity, or pressure to play it from friends just to “see what happens”. All it takes is that one time and your life can be changed forever. If you have used one before and nothing happened that’s great, stop while you’re ahead and don’t push your luck.
